Ramses II, the Son of the Light, is about to reach his coronation. He has all he should need to become a great pharaoh: his wife Nefertari and his mother both love him unconditionally, and he enjoys great strength from solid friendships formed in childhood, especially that of the Hebrew Moses. And yet still the young pharaoh must fight to hold on to the throne. For lurking all around in the shadows are new conspiracies against him. Will he succeed in avoiding the traps set in his path by his older brother? Can he avert the black magic of a mysterious sorcerer and ward off the schemes of the Hittites? The ambushes accumulate and Ramses' defences are exhausted. To vanquish their enemies, visible and unseen, the royal couple resort to the only possible course of action - they build a Temple of a Million Years.

The existence Moses as well as the Exodus are disputed despite they form the basis of the Passover which meant the Promised Land for Jews and later the Paradise for Christians. For most Egyptologists there is absolutely no evidence of Moses and the Exodus in Egyptian documents. However, the last king of the 15th dynasty named Apopi (1613-1573) met Seqenenre Taa, the last pharaoh of the 17th dynasty, who died in May 1533 BCE in dramatic and unclear circumstances (Ps 136:15) as well as his eldest son and crown prince: Ahmose Sapair, who died shortly before him (Ex 12:29). Prince Kamose, Seqenenre Taa's brother, assured interim of authority for 3 years and threatened attack Apopi, new prince of Retenu (Palestine) who had taken the name Moses, according to Manetho. In the stele of the Tempest, Kamose also blamed Apopi for all the disasters that come to fall upon Egypt, which caused many deaths."

Kent Weeks made international headlines when, seventy feet below the surface of Egypt's Valley of the Kings he found the largest and most complicated mausoleum yet discovered, the tomb of Ramesses II's sons. Now for the first time, Weeks shares up-to-the-minute details on the thrilling discovery and contemplates what the tomb, called KV5, will reveal as the excavation moves forward. Built in the age of Exodus, the tomb could potentially transform ancient and biblical history. Its lower levels, possibly containing mummies of Ramesses II's sons, may shed new light on many of the mysteries of the Old Testament, including the story of Moses and the flight of the Israelites from Egypt. Weeks draws on his own diaries, as well as those of his wife and his foreman, to describe the excitement and risks that surround such a significant find. From floodwaters that threatened the opened tomb and the precarious craw spaces deep within it, to thieving tourists and scorpions, this adventure is not for the weak of heart. Photographs and sketches illustrate the crew's progress and the objects and decorations found in the tomb's chambers and hallways The result a true-life, impossibly thrilling Raiders of the Lost Arkwill entrance readers from beginning to end.
