The extraordinary account of one of the most daring World War II missions, as told in the movie Anthropoid If anyone warranted assassination during World War II, the man to know was Reinhard Heydrich (1904–1942)—chief of the security police, rabid anti-Semite, architect of the Final Solution, ruthless overlord of Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia, and Hitler's most likely successor. In 1941, at the height of the Nazis' seeming invincibility, the Czech government-in-exile launched a desperate operation to kill Heydrich. From the assassins' training in England to their Thermopylae-like last stand in the flooded crypt of a Prague church, and the Nazis' savage reprisals (including the obliteration of two villages), The Killing of Reinhard Heydrich brilliantly recounts one of World War II's most daring and tragic missions.

Howard Phillips Lovecraft was born to a well-to-do family in Providence, Rhode Island. As a child, he revealed remarkable precocity in his early interests in literature and science. Ill-health dogged him in youth, rendering his school attendance sporadic; and in 1908 he experienced a nervous breakdown that rendered him a virtual recluse for several years. In 1914 he discovered the world of amateur journalism and began slowly emerging from his hermitry. He wrote tremendous amounts of essays, poetry, and other work; in 1917, under the encouragement from W. Paul Cook and others, he resumed the writing of horror fiction, and his career as a dream-weaver began anew. In 1921 Lovecraft met his future wife, Sonia H. Greene, at an amateur journalism convention. It was at this time that he began expanding his horizons, both geographical and intellectual: he traveled widely, from New England to New York to Cleveland; and he absorbed such literary and intellectual influences as Lord Dunsany, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Arthur Machen. In 1924 he and Sonia decided to marry, and Lovecraft moved to New York to pursue his literary fortune. But, as the first volume of this biography concludes, his metropolitan adventure would be bittersweet at best. S. T. Joshi's award-winning biography H. P. Lovecraft: A Life (1996) provided the most detailed portrait of the life, work, and thought of the dreamer from Providence ever published. But that edition was in fact abridged from Joshi's original manuscript, and this expanded and updated two-volume edition restores the 150,000 words that Joshi omitted and, in addition, updates the texts with new findings.

Most people would associate the SS with Heinrich Himmler, but the latter was not the first (or the last) leader of this infamous body. The SS Databook: 1923-1945 examines the history and development of the Schutzstaffel from its origin as Hitler's personal bodyguard to its growth into a millions-strong organization by the war's end in 1945. Broken down by the key constituent parts of the SS, such as the police, concentration camps, security services, Waffen-SS, slave labour, Einsatzgruppen and so forth, the book includes exhaustive reference tables, diagrams, maps and charts, presenting all the core subject information in easy-to-follow formats. The SS Databook: 1923-1945 will be an essential reference guide for anyone interested in the history or demographics of this infamous organization.

As evidenced by the recent US led invasion of Iraq in 2003, and the subsequent altering of rationales regarding the perceived justification of such an invasion by its originators, the prescript basis for the Nuremberg Principles of 1946 have been undermined by the same political and economic methodology that created it. Whether nations are invaded in terms of ideological justifications, preemptive defense purposes, or for reasons pertaining to economic advancement, each is defined summarily and unequivocally under Nazi defined Lebensraum. In Volume 2 of The Third Reich, A Revolution of Ideological Inhumanity - Death Mask of Humanity, a comprehensive historical illustration of Hitler's attempt to conquer Europe and to eradicate all European Jews in the name of his own primitive ideology is presented. Volume 2 illustrates the most important aspects of WWII in a chronological manner.
