Karma City is a town of virtue governed by the universal laws of karma and where public interest primes. Emma List, a paleontology researcher, presents herself at the gates of the "white zone" of the capital city. She is authorized entry despite her negative karma level. A few minutes later she has a stroke and dies in a car crash. What initially appears to be a routine case for agents Cooper, Napoli, and Asuka soon transforms into a wide-ranging investigation. For Emma List had moved into the grey zone to pursue proof that pre-karmic societies once existed.

The tarot is the story of The Fool and his journey through life, learning, gaining knowledge, becoming wise and spiritually aware. Then he starts it all again in another life. Some lives are easier than others! Eddie Reilly was born in the East End of Glasgow in 1961 into a life of poverty, crime, Old Firm rivalry and smoked sausage suppers. It was also a life of love, friendship, family and Paradise. The Fool was born a Weegie! It could have gone better........ Colette Brown is an author who writes both fiction and non fiction. Karma City: Weegie Tarot is a mixture of both! It can be read as contemporary urban fiction or as an insight into the Fool's Journey of the Tarot. Either way, this book will have you laughing out loud and crying a few tears. What people are saying about Karma City-Weegie Tarot: Colette's warmth, wit, love of the people and intelligence are demonstrated wonderfully in this book. Colette has dragged up old memories and new ideas and painted pictures of them with such wonderfully descriptive words, effortlessly melding a very real sense of Glasgow and its people with the world of Tarot. She uses her words skilfully and concisely, poking fun at, showing the strength and the weaknesses of; but always displaying the warmth and heart of her characters. Colette has managed to avoid the usual Scottish-isms that usually annoy me in Scottish books. She's kept her narrative Scottish in tone, without alienating her non-Scottish readers. This is not easy to pull off, just ask Irvine Welsh. I suppose the best thing I can say is that I loved it, and I think other people should read it; Scottish or not, Mystical or not; you won't regret it. Mark Wilson Author of the dEadinburgh series I laughed, sometimes inwardly, sometimes out loud and I even found myself close to tears. I won't spoil anyone else's enjoyment by saying anything else other than READ IT! I loved the book and know that in order to absorb some of the important messages it contains I will go back and read it again. Yvonne. Eddie Reilly had me laughing out loud (sometimes at inappropriate times) and also sobbing my heart out. So well written and obviously very cleverly done too! I advise anyone who likes a good down to earth story, to read this wonderful book. Mary Colette Brown has taken the story of the tarot and given it new life, new meaning and new understanding - follow 'the fool' on his journey but not the fool as we have known him but the fool as a Glaswegian (Weegie) on his path through his own trials and tribulations, each step echoing the next card in the tarot. An inspired idea brought to life beautifully. Rachel Set in Glasgow this book will have you laughing and crying as you follow Eddie Reilly's life through his ups and downs. Meet the people who Eddie has connected with and the effects they have had on his life. A brilliant book and a must read. Susan Ms. Brown writes as I believe Eddie would speak and the flavour of his experience is in every sentence. I loved the stories. I loved the grittiness and the lessons...the potential for healing in each one. I felt like I was being tucked into bed by my father who's only wish was to make me feel better. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a heart-warming, intelligent read. It's just so good. Danielle (Ontario)

Prehistoric times beyond the mists of vedic India - the forgotten era of ‘first wave’ advanced civilisations. Around 10500 BCE, with sea levels much lower than they are today, and mainland continents still largely covered with ice, the primary centres of Indian civilisation were dominated by two highly advanced nation states – Dev Lok and Daityan Empire. Spiritually-inclined Devas lived in harmony with nature, whereas Daityas believed in brute force technologies for rapid prosperity and material gratification. Steady inundation of the tropical islands created a crisis, particularly for Daityas. To fuel their hunger for material resources, the aggressive Daityas proceeded to invade other nations. Warrior monk Hara becomes the sole hope of Dev Lok to prevent defeat and abject subjugation. However, before he can help them, Hara must undertake the ultimate journey of spirituality to pass beyond the barrier of death itself and engage with the astral personae of Lord Rudra - one of three extra-terrestrial progenitors of humanity. This action-packed mythological science fiction takes the readers through the exotic cities of Amaravati, Atalantpuri (Atlantis?), and traces the arduous journey to Mount Kailash through Sarparanya. The story also unfolds the philosophy of Karma within the backdrop of love, passion, greed, war, tragedy and spirituality that characterised these ancient times. Will Hara be able to check the Daityan aggression in time to correct the course of Karma? Will he be able to wield the viman ‘Pinaka’ against the central seat of Daityan power – the indestructible citadels of Tripura? Is he the one who will glorify the name of Lord Shiva as Tripurantaka – the mighty destroyer of Tripura? More at - http://theguardiansofkarma.blogspot.in/.

A penetrating, personal look at contemporary India—the world’s largest democracy at a moment of transition. Somini Sengupta emigrated from Calcutta to California as a young child in 1975. Returning thirty years later as the bureau chief for The New York Times, she found a vastly different country: one defined as much by aspiration and possibility—at least by the illusion of possibility—as it is by the structures of sex and caste. The End of Karma is an exploration of this new India through the lens of young people from different worlds: a woman who becomes a Maoist rebel; a brother charged for the murder of his sister, who had married the “wrong” man; a woman who opposes her family and hopes to become a police officer. Driven by aspiration—and thwarted at every step by state and society—they are making new demands on India’s democracy for equality of opportunity, dignity for girls, and civil liberties. Sengupta spotlights these stories of ordinary men and women, weaving together a groundbreaking portrait of a country in turmoil.

Made in America. Outsourced to India. At Home with Herself? A charming yet honest memoir of one Upper West side housewife who finds herself saying good-bye to Starbucks and all her notions of "home" when she and her husband are outsourced to Hyderabad. Jenny Feldon imagined life in India as a glitzy yoga whirlwind. Instead she found buffalo-related traffic jams. Jenny struggled to fight the depression, bitterness, and anger as her sense of self and her marriage began to unravel. And it was all India's fault—wasn't it? Equally frustrating, revealing, and amusing, this is the true story of an accidental housewife trapped in the third world.
